Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after a collision involving an OPP vehicle resulted in the death of a 35-year-old Pembroke man.
Shortly after midnight on Sept. 29, an unmarked OPP cruiser travelling northbound on Highway 12 hit a man who was crossing the road near the Jones Road intersection.
The officer in the cruiser provided first aid until emergency medical services arrived on scene and took over. However, the man died from his injuries at the scene.
Four investigators, two forensic investigators and one collision reconstructionist from the province’s Special Investigations Unit have been assigned to the case.
