The B.C. police watchdog has been called in to investigate the death of a man in a Penticton jail cell.

Police say Keremeos RCMP arrested a 55-year-old man for outstanding warrants during a traffic stop on Thursday around 7 a.m.

He was taken to a cell block in Penticton to await a court appearance later in the day.
